Frequently Asked Questions

Do you teach children?

Absolutely. I'm happy to teach children from 12+, I'm also fully DBS checked.

Do you teach singing online?

Absolutely, nowadays that is the best way to stay in tune and keep improving your singing.

Where will the lessons be located?

I would normally teach the majority of my student at the Cygnet Theatre, Friar's Gate, EX24AZ. You can click on the map below to bring up the Cygnet Theatre's location on Google maps.

Which styles do you teach?

Mostly Musical Theatre, Classical, Jazz, Contemporary, Blues, Folk.

I am preparing for an event/audition, what should I do?

There is no obligation to come every week for years on end. Students are welcome to come to me for a one off lesson if there is something you want to look at specifically. I would suggest 1 or 2 hours for an intense short course as we can really get into the project you’re working on.

What do I need to bring?

A bottle of water and a notepad. Please feel free to bring any sheet music or song titles of music you would like to work on.

What will I sing?

I base all my singing lessons around you, so if you let me know before we start the style(s) of music you would like to sing and what your goals are, I will start with that. If you would like to bring music with you, I'm very happy to work on your choice of music, but this may not be from the first lesson.

Am I too old to start learning to sing?

No, I have taught quite a few retired singers right up until their 80's. It's about setting your goals based on what you want to sing and what you want to achieve.
